Admission Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the 5-year Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy Practitioner Training,
  • Documented experience in conducting groups under supervision,
  • Successful completion of all required examinations,
  • Invitation by the Institute.

Program Overview:
The Trainer Training Program is designed for individuals who have successfully completed the Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy Practitioner Training and are ready to develop their competencies as future educators and trainers. Participants in this program will learn how to teach group management, ethical responsibilities, and the advanced philosophy, theory, and techniques of Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy.

Program Goals:
This training aims to prepare experienced psychodrama psychotherapists for the role of educator and trainer. Candidates will develop the skills necessary to design and deliver training programs, supervise group processes, and guide the next generation of psychodrama practitioners.


Curriculum Content

The program covers the following core areas:

  • Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy Theory: In-depth study of philosophical foundations, classical and contemporary theoretical frameworks.
  • Practical Applications: Teaching the core techniques and action methods of psychodrama, sociodrama, axiodrama, etc.
  • Group Management: Understanding group dynamics, developmental stages of groups, and facilitation skills.
  • Core Teaching Subjects: Identifying and structuring the essential topics to be taught in practitioner training programs.
  • Curriculum Design: Analyzing training program structures, developing course content, and planning learning objectives.
  • Trainer Competencies: Developing leadership, communication, and mentoring skills specific to the trainer role.
  • Managing Group Challenges: Recognizing and addressing potential difficulties, conflicts, and resistances that may arise in training groups.
  • Writing Scientific Article: Writing a scientific article related to Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy, contributing to the professional literature and demonstrating advanced academic engagement.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Teach the theory and practice of Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy at a foundational, intermediate and advance level.
  • Design and structure training curricula in accordance with professional standards.
  • Facilitate group processes with an understanding of ethical responsibilities and group dynamics.
  • Mentor and supervise trainee practitioners in their clinical development.
  • Address challenges within training groups with confidence and appropriate intervention skills.

Duration of the Training

The İstanbul Psychodrama Institute “Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy Trainer Training Program” is designed as a comprehensive 200-hour program. The training is structured to provide a balanced integration of theoretical knowledge, practical application, and supervised practice, ensuring that participants develop the competencies required for the trainer role.

 

Practical Application (90 hours)
Participants lead the group under the supervision of the trainer and receive supervision regarding their leadership skills. Within the applied components of the training, they are also expected to take on the protagonist role themselves. Process analysis of each enactment is conducted during these sessions, and the intended learning outcomes are systematically addressed and evaluated.

Supervision (70 hours)
Under the guidance of senior trainers, participants receive regular supervision and intervision focused on their developing teaching practice. Supervision sessions provide a reflective space to examine training interventions, discuss challenges encountered in group facilitation, and receive constructive feedback. This component supports the integration of theory into practice and ensures professional growth aligned with institute standards.

Theoretical Study (40 hours)
Participants engage in in-depth exploration of the philosophy, theory, and methodology of Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy. This component covers advanced topics including the historical development of psychodrama, theoretical frameworks, ethical principles and curriculum design.Theoretical sessions are delivered through lectures, seminars, and guided reading.

Scientific Article Requirement
As part of the program, each participant is required to write and submit a scientific article related to Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy, contributing to the professional literature and demonstrating advanced academic engagement.

Ongoing Supervision and Professional Development for Trainers

Following the completion of the Trainer Training Program, all certified trainers are expected to engage in continuous professional development and ongoing supervision. This process ensures that trainers remain up-to-date with current developments in the field of Psychodrama Group Psychotherapy, maintain high ethical and professional standards, and continue to grow in their role as educators. Regular supervision provides a reflective space where trainers can examine their teaching practices, address challenges encountered within training groups, and receive support and feedback from senior colleagues. This commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth is essential to preserving the quality and integrity of the training offered at İstanbul Psychodrama Institute.
